Seeking volunteers to help in June

The Quarry Project Echoes update
February 24, 2024

This morning, my dog and I took a walk in the forest, the sun shining, the snow still firm enough to walk on top. It was quiet and lovely.

Each day, the shape of this installation is becoming more defined. It is exciting to see the work that is being made in the artist’s studios and to hear from people who want to help installing the work in May. It buoys me.

This is our first call for volunteers during the weekends in June. Here is where you can sign up. What we are seeking and when you are needed are explained. You will be the first person a visitor to the installation will encounter, greeting them and handling the money exchange. Your role is a lynchpin and without you, the running of the installation will not be as smooth. Two of the core group of artists - Leslie Anderson, Julia Barstow, Lukas Huffman, Andreas John and myself – will always be there, taking responsibility for the art and the building, and available for questions. You will work alongside us.

If you can spare some time, we would love to have you. For those of you who helped during the performances, thank you. The shows ran smoothly because of your efforts. Think of the ECHO as a coda, the final component to this unique and inspiring project. As a way to say thank you for volunteering, we invite you to join us at the opening and/or the closing receptions – May 31 from 3-6 and June 30 from 3-6.

If you have any questions, don’t be hesitant to be in touch.

Gratefully,
Hannah
