The Quarry Project Update

This photograph of the House women stepping across the water onto their stage is a moment in the performance that always touched me, perhaps because they were the first to separate from the group, or perhaps because of that gap of water that encapsulated the unknown, the element of chance that was always present, where anything could happen. I love their concentration and comradery.

FILM
Lukas Huffman has been working long hours to make a film that pleases both of us. The Quarry Project 2022 film is a memory for those of you who were able to be in the audience over the 14 days of performance last August, and a chance for those of you unable to attend to see the piece. Here is the trailer.

This past week, we had our two December screenings in the town where the quarry is sited and in my home territory. The audience was made up of people who, over the years, helped in so many ways to make this project a success.

Here is a link to the page where you can see all the scheduled screenings. There are two sites where seating is limited. If you choose one of those sites, please sign up by activating the button “Reserve a Seat”.  All screenings are by donation. We hope to see many of you and afterwards engage in conversations about the art of making. An additional screening in Burlington is in the works and you will hear about it next month.

I always welcome your written response to what you experience, be it performance or film. These responses will become part of the Quarry Project website.

GIFTS
Please consider making a gift this holiday season of Quarry Project cards, postcards, and books. Go to this link to make your choice. If you want the gift to go directly to the recipient, be sure to put their address in the appropriate spaces. We will include a program and a note.

May these days of early winter be times of quiet and recharge.
