The Quarry Project ECHOES Fourth Weekend

Snapshot of Marcy Kass’ puzzle

Rain has finally broken the heatwave. Such a relief.

We have passed the halfway mark and are embarking on our second to last weekend. Outstandingly positive responses from a broad swath of people have been written in the ECHOES book and told to us in conversation. Approximately 60% of those walking through the doors of the Kent did not see a performance.

Here are two (paraphrased) responses, the first from someone who had seen a performance at the Wells Lamson, and the second from someone who had not:

First off, we are seasoned theatre goers, having seen numerous dance performances mostly in big cities. We were fortunate to get tickets to one of the Quarry Project performances. This performance totally amazed and filled me in a way I had not been previously. I didn’t want to leave.
When we got notice of this exhibition, I was slightly reluctant to attend, not wanting to compromise in any way what we had experienced in 2022. But we were delighted, moved and expanded by ECHOES. I wish everyone could see this high-quality work.

The Quarry Project ECHOES is top notch. The artists involved are excellent, their work compelling. The setting – both the building and the environment in each room – is mesmerizing, complimenting and partnering with the art on the walls and pedestals. I wandered about for a couple of hours, feeling myself settle and absorb. I will tell everyone I know to come to this unique installation. Thank you!

We hope you can take the time to come to Calais VT and see this excellent work. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11-5pm.
