The Quarry Project Update

The screenings of the Quarry Project film 2022 are complete for now and we are waiting on responses from festival submissions before distributing the film more widely.

Meanwhile, there is a plan afoot to put a finishing touch on this long and transformative project.

The seven artists from The Quarry Project along with several artists who were influenced by the project & setting are planning an installation at the Kent Museum in Calais next summer that will highlight their integral contribution to the performance.

Lukas Huffman (film maker), Leslie Anderson (costumes, visual art, set), Julia Barstow (photographer) and myself are the lead team and have been in dialogue about the ways the project in the quarry opened our eyes to the world that is beneath and beyond the surface. We walked slowly through the Kent a few weeks ago to dream up what this installation might look like. Now we will visit the building with the other artists involved, gathering all their thoughts and ideas to refine the concept.

You will hear more about this installation as the time goes on, but safe to say the above and below photographs are a glimpse into the world in which we are immersed.
